I have found a new nail polish which is FABULOUS!! I naturally wear OPI PICK-ING ON YOU, but the other day I went to a Mary-Kay party which my friend sells.  I found this wonderful color for fall and winter that I thought I should share.  It is called INTENSITY (it is the purple color). Just a great way to look good in fall and winter.

I thought I hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon my whacky-holiday website until a friend showed me this one.  What began as a made-up word [foodimentary], is now a site and a mindset faithfully followed by "foodies" everywhere. Foodimentary includes all things food - jokes about food, reviews of restaurants and recipes, food festivals, food facts, healthy tips -- the list is endless but my favorite part of the website is the Today-N-Food portion which lists all the celebratory holidays of the year (there's at least one food or dish for each day). While I momentarily considered what it would be like to follow a strict Today-N-Food diet, eating primarily the featured food of the day, I quickly reconsidered once I saw some specific foods (for example, Gum Drops and I share the celebratory day of February 15th. Even if I didn't hate gum drops, it would be tricky to prepare a well balanced meal of the little colorful blobs of sugar). But rest assured that I will be partaking and celebrating specific foods way more often, thanks to this little inter-web gem of a site! It has the potential to spark some creative thought if you're stuck in a rut for dinner or can't think of a birthday dessert, and provide you with countless "did you know-s"around the table!

I would also like to note that this site marks June 6th as National Donut Day whereas my sources celebrate donuts on the 4th.  In the spirit of peace, I propose we celebrate both days.

Warning: please allot at least half an hour before clicking this link to a most beautiful, addicting, clever spot of cyber space. While we may be decades away from possessing (if ever) anything that resembles the beautiful architecture or stunning room arrangements and fancy furniture... the site is totally worth checking out. Inspiration abounds; they have a section called "ideabooks" which offer countless categories of good idea after good idea in pictures. The design group that contributes to the site also take our kind into consideration -- I'm currently camped out in the "small and affordable " section and with a move in June approaching, I'm enjoying things like 'tips for downsizing' and 'guide for twenty-something home design', and 'perfectly composed small rooms.'  The best part is that you can build your own idea book and save their photos for easy reference later!
Okay, so maybe you need at least an hour before entering...

My friend Beth has a fabulous collection of meaningful photographs scattered throughout her apartment. This one rests just at my eye level on her mantle and I love everything about it. It's baby Beth with her grandpa. I challenge you to find a more genuine capture of grandaddy lovin'. Thanks for sharing, Beth!

Need a good way to organize your kitchen goodies without having them stuffed in a messy drawer? I use these baskets and hooks to get my pretty kitchen goods up and off the counter in a pretty and functional display. Choose utensils that go with you kitchen to bring color into the space ( my colors are yellow and turquoise). Counter and drawer space are valuable, and this is a great quick fix. I got my bar, baskets and hooks at IKEA for under $15!!

P.S. Everything in the picture ( except for 2 things) was given to me by RED and BLONDE.

Okay, so it may not all be eye candy - we'll involve a couple other senses, too. How about some sweet nothing's for your ears that are just now unthawing from a chilly winter's Jack Frost?

Griffin Kelp was a groomsman in our (lily and ben), wedding last winter and just happens to be quite the talented musician. His musical talents fill our apartment on a regular basis.
Check him out here:
You'll be sweetly serenaded by smooth sounds.

for starters- here's my newest favorite means of storage. Practical and aesthetically pleasing. These mason jars belonged to my grandma, but you can find them at most thrift shops or yard sales priced quite reasonably.

We all know the stresses of getting married and learning to cook.  I grew-up in a family where my sister cooked all the time and planned every meal.  I just sat back and watched and did the dishes.  So, when it came time to get married and plan a grocery list, I had no clue what to do.  Thanks to my wonderful husband the budgeter, researcher found this wonderful website that gives you your weekly grogery list and menu for whatever store you may shop at.  E-mealz was a life saver for the past two years.  Hope you all enjoy!!
